Green building isn’t new. From offices to rental properties, more developers are going green to receive LEED, or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, certification and create sustainable contributions to the town landscape. The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) gives three different certification levels: Certified, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
Green Builds Jobs
According to last year’s green impact study from the USGBC, green construction will directly contribute 1.1 million jobs by the year 2018. And, LEED will specifically add 386,000 jobs in the next few years. Green construction and LEED is forecasted to contribute $75.6 and $26.2 billion in wages, respectively.
Aside from reducing carbon footprint, green workplaces exude modernism, both in concept and in appearance. It’s no wonder why so many businesses are making the switch to eco-constructed offices when their commercial leases end.
Not all business owners have the opportunity to build, move quickly or even find LEED-certified office spaces, at least not always within budget. One way to convey your business’ values of supporting sustainable efforts is incorporating eco-friendly interior elements, including recycled material mats.
Eagle Mat offers environmentally friendly entrance mats, gym mats, and anti-fatigue mats to help your business reduce its carbon footprint while keeping spaces clean, safe, and sanitary. Our mats and tiles contain up to 100 percent recycled drinking bottles and resistant backing made from 20 percent recycled tires.
