Polyvinyl garage flooring is garage flooring that is made of PVC or polyvinyl chloride plastic.
Polyvinyl garage flooring may have lots of different names:
- Vinyl flooring
- Polyvinyl flooring
- PVC flooring
- LVT flooring (luxury vinyl tile)
- VCT flooring (vinyl composition tile)
These are all types of flooring that are made with polyvinyl chloride or PVC.
Differences between them include:
- How they are manufactured—for example in sheets or in tiles.
- How much of their composition is from recycled materials.
- How they are installed—for example do they need an adhesive?
- How thick or thin they are, and similarly how hard or soft they are.
- Do they have specific properties to resist bacteria or chemicals?
- What types of finishes or textures or colors are they available with?
Fundamentally, these are all similar types of flooring with some slight differences depending on their intended use and application.
LVT tend to be more upscale because of the textures and finishes available with them. These types of vinyl tiles can mimic much more expensive stone or tile or wood flooring.
All floorings that are available in tiles are easier to repair than sheet flooring because you only have to replace one or more tiles. The repair will be invisible. The sheet floorings, however, will have more integrity because there are no breaks or seams like individual tiles have that moisture can get under or little kids can pick away at.
And no matter what type of vinyl flooring you have, you still need mats at all of your entrances to cut down on slips, trips, and falls, and improve your indoor safety. There is no magic floor that reduces your need for mats.
Every commercial or business premises needs mats, and enough of them to rotate out the ones that are dirty (for cleaning) and immediately rotate in clean ones to take their places while you’re letting the first ones dry.
Putting down mats is the best, easiest, and cheapest way to improve overall floor safety no matter what kind of floor you have. Always. Slips, trips, and falls, account for 15 percent of all accidental deaths. Do you have other questions? It’s easy to contact us, and we’re happy to help you.
